The Supreme Board of Egyptian Scouts selected 61 Scouts and Scouters from the U.A.R. representing Youth Seouts, Marine Scouts & Air Scouts Organisations to participate in the World Scouts Jamboree at Marathon. Greece as the U.A.R. delegation.

The Contingent took part in various activities in the Jamboree including pass drill parade, etc. the various displays demonstrated by the members of the Contingent were greatly appreciated. The U.A.R. Contingent couldn’t however join the conducted tour for sight-seeing organized by the Jamboree authorities.

The ambassador for U.A.R. in Greece showe great interest for the contingent and kindly deputed his representative to look after the members of the contingent. “Prophet’s Birth Day” was celebrated at the U.A.R. Campus. The Ambassador was present at the function and personally distributed sweets to all members of the Contingent.

The Contingent did some sight-seeing in Greece after the Jamboree was over and left Greece for U.A.R. on 16.8.63 by boat.
